The Chalet offers taxi service to and from the Public Landing at the far end of Upper Echo Lake, and to the cabins around both lakes. It runs on demand, as long as the minimum fee is met. There is a direct-line ("drop") phone at the far end of Upper Echo Lake which you may use to call for a taxi. If for some reason this phone does not work, there is a CREDIT-CARD ONLY pay phone, and the Chalet number is posted.

RATES: $14.00 per person (pack included), ONE WAY - non-walking infants are free.
There is a three-person or $42 minimum to run a taxi. -
No roundtrip tickets are available
Dogs are allowed on the taxis - the rate is $5.00 per dog.
Occasionally, some folks prefer to hike to the Upper Landing and have us transport their backpacks. Such packs are ten dollars ($10) each, and must be accompanied by a paying passenger who assumes responsibility for them.
"Tours" (non-stop to Upper Echo landing and return) $21.00 per person (2-person or $42.00 minimum)
As of January 2012: Children under thirteen (13) years of age must wear a lifejacket at all times that the boat is underway
(the age has been increased from 12 to 13).
